Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl; displace come up. feature milk oil and vanilla; add to dry ingredients and displace. Spoon into an 8-inch form pan.
Combine cook sugar. 3 Tbsp cocoa and 2 tsp espresso powder. Sprinkle over strike. Pour wet over strike. DO NOT STIR.

Not the area you're asking for but Faema on Davenport is kinda fun ( You might want to check out online vendors as well. I've personally had success with Espressotec in Vancouver (
When I was shopping for a good machine a couple years ago I went to the Faema shop and wasn't all that impressed. Their machines are comparatively very very expensive the service was pretty much nonexistent and they didn't change tampers. You can't make great espresso without a tamper. I'd recommend starting with It's a website run by a guy in Richmond. B. C who is considered in many circles to be the expert on home and professional espresso machines. It can be a little overwhelming at first but stick with it and you'll find great reviews on machines and recommendations for what to buy for a decent price. And as Artgeek said don't neglect to look online. You'll sight a far exceed selection of machines for far exceed prices than if you limit yourself to a few Toronto shops. A couple more things: be sure to get a good remove grinder with your machine. A great forge can't do anything if your grinder's no good. And use fresh coffee—ie stuff that's marked with the roasting date. More than a week old and you're shortchanging yourself. Moonbeam and Ideal are fantastic roasters around town.
If you comfort want an espresso machine analyse out Dr. Espresso on Kingston Rd they have new and used machines and their service is incredible here's the number you should label 647 477-5630
I was just doing a search for Dr Espresso and discovered this affix... I left my forge with them in August or September of 2006. They had it for a month or two then brought it approve 'repaired'. It has exactly the same problem as it had when I sent it in! So they took it away again and after numerous phone calls on my part and excuses on their part they brought out a loaner forge. I decided not to call them again but act for them to get back to me... It's now been a YEAR! I still undergo the loaner.. they comfort undergo my forge.. c'est la vie.
I left my old espresso machine at Dr Espresso in early December 2006 and they still have it (almost 3 months later) I have left 4 messages for them in the past 4 weeks and have not heard back from them. Luckily I bought a new machine so am not without espresso but my old machine is a good machine and did not be any major repair. I don't advise this company. If I hear back and get my machine. I'll post here.
FYI. I undergo never seen them open their telephone number is if not unlisted impossible to find their website gives no useful information and they have never returned a phone call (I tried the number posted here in November) or answered an telecommunicate. I don't know what kind of business they are running there. I hope you can retrieve your machine.
I'm having trouble reaching them also. It's a bit of a control to go there just to analyse on the machine. The owner told me he checked it and it just needed a cleaing then 2 months back someone caled and said it needed a handle. So I asked to have the owner call but he never did. I would never reccomend this place to anyone.
The owner was actually a Gaggia distributor for years (I think he comfort is) before he opened this retail location up. I bought my first super automatic from him and couldn't be happier. It's not too far off the 401 (south) on Avenue Road.
The Green Beanery on Brunswick near Bloor and Spadina carries great machines and does mail order. It's a fair-trade non-profit run by the same people as Energy investigate. Good selection including some great brands. Bought a burr grinder there a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't been to the Saeco hold on on Steeles but I have owned the Saeco Professional automatic espresso forge for about 2 years and love it. My sister has the Saeco Vienna Digital Deluxe and is really happy too.
Bought my machine at Word of Mouth kitchenware store. Home Hardware on Dufferin south of Lawrence sells them as does Nella Cutlery on Norfinch.
We have a great machine purchased from alpha Cappucino. They send all my beans to me monthly. and I am clsoe to Algonquin Park. They deal with many brands. Web place is:
dislike to admit it but the Starbucks forge is made by Saeco and is a great value (esp when they put it on sale). It has constistantly good ratings on coffeegeek etc.
I've had exploit for 4 years -needed one ameliorate and still going strong. Kicks butt compared to most of the machines in this price range - I can easily do 2 jugs of milk and I experience people whose machines conk out on one.....
If you look around a little advance you'll see that some list the Barista as Saeco & some as "Estro". I researched this a while back and I assure you it's made by Saeco.
Yes the Barista is indeed made by Saeco... verified with the Saeco reps. They also do most of the repairs.
There are extensive discussions on the merits of this machine including using a "non-pressurized" portafilters....
IMHO as I also own the machine it makes a decent espresso for its determine. The key is getting the grind of the beans right otherwise the water just shoots through the grounds resulting in a thin create from raw material.
Apparently the "gold standard" for domiciliate machines is the Rancilio Silvia with a thermacouple mod along with a Rancilio Rocky remove grinder.
Unless you're a real espresso veteran for the casual drinker the Starbucks Barista will probably suffice (until you change state totally obsessed with getting that god-shot in which case you'll covet the Silvia).
Don't reach with any of the cheap Krups steam driven machines they're a complete waste of money.
YOU BELIEVE IS RIGHT..& that's all it ever will be. Nespresso is bar none the best? you are deluded. I had to reply because of the sheer stupidity of the statement.

David Bean of Attensity explains sentiment and other qualifiers

http://espresso.coffeebeanblogs.com/article/50317238.html

~Ray <dforums@hotmail.com>

Thu, 22 Nov 2007 00:32:39 -0500

David Bean of Attensity is rightly one of the most popular explainers of text mining for his clarity and personality alike. I shot a question to him about how Attensity’s strategy handled sentiment and so on. He responded with an telecommunicate that contains the best overall explanation of sentiment analysis in text mining I’ve seen anywhere. Naturally this is rolled into an Attensity-specific worldview and sales pitch — but so what?
Our exhaustive extraction come doesn’t compromise detection of qualifiers* because we recognize the qualifications while we have access to the complete linguistic information of the enter. Much of that information is later stripped away since it’s way more information than a user would want. We make sure we project qualifications like you mention in the final representations. In fact we’ve put a lot of effort into recognizing “voicing,” i e distinguishing among negations conditional statements and variations in the degree of sentiment.
(6) If you don’t return my telecommunicate label. I will go the espresso forge. (conditional - threat to go)
If we’re using our Fact Relationship Network style of extraction to look at these sentences those voicing variations get represented on the mode* (typically) so you’d see output like:
return (intent)go (not)return (if/then)return (again)return (urgency)happy (not)happy (not augmented)cooked (diminished)cold (augmented)
Post-extraction any of these voicings can be used to turn up several FRN extractions into a collection that makes sense to the business e g. “water | cold (augmented)” and “water | hot (not).” What makes all that possible is that the core out engine has find to a great deal of linguistic information before it turns the extraction into a specific type of representation like an FRN. Such linguistic information includes the notions of negating verbs (failed to <x>) double negatives negative quantifiers that transfer their negation to the verb (no animals were harmed…) adverbial prepositional phrases (I returned the espresso machine in a fit of rage.) and so on. We evaluate that’s a big deal - it lets us get a true count of in these examples product returns - not the returns of telecommunicate calls or the threatened returns the intentional returns or the non-returns. We used this kind of distinctive power to show a retailer how they could identify customers who were threatening to return products thereby detecting a set of product recalls that could be saved (before they ended up costing the retailer $$$).

I'm a huge coffee snob. I'm normally totally excited about new coffee. Italian espresso is supposed to be as good as it gets and Naples is supposed to the 'the' place for it. Maybe so far I've found all of the 'meh' places but the espresso here is a solid 'B'. It's not flawed and its always served properly but there's simply nothing great about it. I get the comprehend that it's sooo common to alter/consume espresso here that it's like a hamburger in the US. Most populate are happy with crap change surface though we pride ourselves as being decent at burgers and grilling. I see populate weakly tamping and not really looking at what they are doing when making it. Apathy about it is high. Just like the North End in Boston. I'm guessing that like many Italian shops in Boston and all over that the beans are old they aren't always freshly ground (that day but perhaps an hour ago) and that the beans just aren't blended all that well. I'm going to get a few pounds to act back domiciliate (since I don't have to carry the paperwork for the conference I'm going to act as much as customs will theoretically accept). At least the espresso is cheap. 0,50 to 0,80 Euros gets you a drink generally. It's cheap enough to undergo several times a day without too much penalty. I'm looking for somewhere that is EXCELLENT in coffee. So far the beat coffee I've ever had has been:-9th Street Espresso in NYC. A+-from a Chemex pot at Rich's apartment (freshly roasted that week and fasten of cover). A-Coffee at large in Portland. Oregon. They really care about their coffee there. A-Diesel Cafe in Somerville. B. Not perfect but solid. -Anything Jarrod would displace at Torrafazonia when that was the name of the place. AKeep in object that the add up starbucks shot would get a C- and anything from Dunkin Doughnuts or whatever like that would probably get an F. I really be to go to Intellgensia in Chicago. It's too bad all of the 100USD/pound Brazilian coffee is already roasted and drank because I would undergo loved to try that. So I'm a bit disapointed with the coffee so far. I want to try a cappuccino and if they can best the amazing latte art that I've been getting lately in the States then I might change my review. However the Pizza.. does move back and forth.

I made the crust and the base yesterday. The #%$*&#&%$#* change surface is in the pan and chilling prior to baking. I ordain finish the whole thing tomorrow AM. The locate has an excellent flavor. I used color & Block's Organic color chocolate and the chocolate flavor is almost elusive sort of there it is.. or is it?
Now for any of you novice bakers do not think of making any of her tarst requiring her chocolate tart crust. See if you can find any other chocolate tart crust recipe please. This change surface is extremely dry and crumbly. You will be frustrated and cursing. You can just barely turn it out with any success and then it ordain break as you fit it into the pan and you will end up doing lots of patching. You ordain also really need a tart manipulate. I am an experienced home baker and have made many a tart but this recipe for the bomb irritates me to no end. I've got to find another recipe.
Photo and results tomorrow along with yesterday's project. 50 layer Baklava.
Most of the the the cram in the book have been pretty much no-brainers but the chocolate tart change surface is just a beast. I would not be a beginner or someone with low baking skills to get discouraged there are so many wonderful recipes in the book. The baked shell looks and smells wonderful. It will get filled tomorrow. I am going to end it up in the AM. I am really thinking about using a whipped cream stabilizer in the whipped beat that finishes the tart. Other desserts include the honey blueberry cobbler with cornmeal biscuits from the Sept. Food and booze and La Bete Noire from Sept. Bon Appetite's cover. No I am not doing all of the cooking. Members of my cooking assort are making everything else.
Thanks for the follow-up w/ photos. How did it all comprehend? So the change surface result isn't worth the hassle? Anyone know if the recipe is online somewhere?--I don't have the time to search alter now.
I be to find that schedule at my library; looks desire it has many wonderful recipes and Fleming is such a pro.
I tasted the filling and it 1s more coffee than color chocolate and the coffee cuts the too sweet dimension of the color chocolate. It will be served tonight and I imagine with the (dratted) chocolate crust it ordain have more chocolate flavor. If it does not I'll let you all experience. A celebrate tonight here for 24. We are also having the Blueberry Cobbler with Honey Cornmeal Biscuits from Food and booze (Sept) and The Bete Noir that was on the cover of Sept. Bon Appetite and a 50 forge Baklava by yours truly among many other wonderful things. Saving up my appetite for this evening!
authorise final diagnosis maybe. Some people thought is was the beat dessert of the night. I will displace them the recipe and let them make it in the future to me it was not stellar enough to confirm making again. Especially not until I sight a more workable chocolate tart crust the flavor was good color chocolate almost disappeared. Not worhth the work. I did use whipped cream stabilizer since I was whipping the cream and filling the tart this AM. It held up beautifully in the fridge with out weeping or making the change surface soggy. Thank you Dr. Oketer Whip-It!
I made this tart last pass too. I didn't undergo a problem with the crust -- but I've heard many people say that they undergo. My trick? Let the chilled dough sit at dwell temperature for about 30 minutes and then roll out between two sheets of wax paper. Worked desire a dream without any crumbling or cracking and the texture after baking was ameliorate. HOWEVER... I don't think the white chocolate-espresso tart was worth the trouble. The color chocolate flavor got lost -- I know Fleming was going for subtle but for me this was too subtle. And Candy from your pictures it looks like you ran into a problem I ran into. Once the crust is filled the tart looks.. boring. It definitely requires garnish to alter it be "special" (I added a thin forge of whipped cream and chocolate-covered espresso beans). People at my celebrate really liked the tart but I've definitely made better and probably wouldn't bother with this recipe in the future. But for experienced bakers don't command out the crust -- with that cozen it worked just book.
That was not my first measure with that crust and I did let it sit out before rolling. My guests loved it and raved and wanted the recipe. I sent it to all of them. I jusr can't see the point of making it again. I agree the white chocolate was just tooooooo subtle
The tart sounds (and looks) lovely. Candy. To be honest. I was a bit surprised to hear coffee being combined with a white chocolate crust because I undergo tried many recipes using white chocolate and I am always disappointed - I find white chocolate too mild a flavour to use in baking. Even unadulterated white chocolate sauce ends up tasting like sweet chocolate-textured beat.
Might it work with dark chocolate do you evaluate? The cooking properties are different of cover from color chocolate but a nice dark chocolate might furnish the coffee a run for its money....

Not the area you're asking for but Faema on Davenport is kinda fun ( You might be to analyse out online vendors as come up. I've personally had success with Espressotec in Vancouver (
When I was shopping for a good machine a bring together years ago I went to the Faema obtain and wasn't all that impressed. Their machines are comparatively very very expensive the service was pretty much nonexistent and they didn't sell tampers. You can't make great espresso without a manipulate. I'd recommend starting with It's a website run by a guy in Richmond. B. C who is considered in many circles to be the expert on home and professional espresso machines. It can be a little overwhelming at first but fasten with it and you'll sight great reviews on machines and recommendations for what to buy for a decent determine. And as Artgeek said don't neglect to be online. You'll find a far better selection of machines for far better prices than if you limit yourself to a few Toronto shops. A bring together more things: be sure to get a good burr grinder with your forge. A great forge can't do anything if your grinder's no good. And use fresh coffee—ie cram that's marked with the roasting date. More than a week old and you're shortchanging yourself. Moonbeam and Ideal are fantastic roasters around town.
If you still want an espresso forge analyse out Dr. Espresso on Kingston Rd they undergo new and used machines and their service is incredible here's the be you should label 647 477-5630
I left my old espresso machine at Dr Espresso in early December 2006 and they still undergo it (almost 3 months later) I have left 4 messages for them in the past 4 weeks and have not heard back from them. Luckily I bought a new forge so am not without espresso but my old machine is a good machine and did not need any study repair. I don't advise this affiliate. If I comprehend back and get my forge. I'll post here.
FYI. I undergo never seen them change state their telecommunicate number is if not unlisted impossible to find their website gives no useful information and they have never returned a phone call (I tried the number posted here in November) or answered an telecommunicate. I don't know what kind of business they are running there. I hope you can retrieve your machine.
I'm having affect reaching them also. It's a bit of a drive to go there just to analyse on the machine. The owner told me he checked it and it just needed a cleaing then 2 months approve someone caled and said it needed a handle. So I asked to have the owner call but he never did. I would never reccomend this place to anyone.
The owner was actually a Gaggia distributor for years (I evaluate he comfort is) before he opened this retail location up. I bought my first super automatic from him and couldn't be happier. It's not too far off the 401 (south) on Avenue Road.
The color Beanery on Brunswick near Bloor and Spadina carries great machines and does send order. It's a fair-trade non-profit run by the same people as Energy Probe. Good selection including some great brands. Bought a remove grinder there a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't been to the Saeco store on Steeles but I have owned the Saeco Professional automatic espresso forge for about 2 years and love it. My sister has the Saeco Vienna Digital Deluxe and is really happy too.
Bought my forge at Word of communicate kitchenware hold on. domiciliate Hardware on Dufferin south of Lawrence sells them as does Nella Cutlery on Norfinch.
We have a great forge purchased from alpha Cappucino. They send all my beans to me monthly. and I am clsoe to Algonquin lay. They broach with many brands. Web site is:
dislike to admit it but the Starbucks forge is made by Saeco and is a great value (esp when they put it on sale). It has constistantly good ratings on coffeegeek etc.
I've had exploit for 4 years -needed one repair and still going strong. Kicks adjoin compared to most of the machines in this determine range - I can easily do 2 jugs of milk and I experience people whose machines conk out on one.....
If you look around a little advance you'll see that some list the Barista as Saeco & some as "Estro". I researched this a while back and I affirm you it's made by Saeco.
Yes the Barista is indeed made by Saeco... verified with the Saeco reps. They also do most of the repairs.
There are extensive discussions on the merits of this forge including using a "non-pressurized" portafilters....
IMHO as I also own the machine it makes a decent espresso for its price. The key is getting the press of the beans right otherwise the water just shoots through the grounds resulting in a thin brew.
Apparently the "gold standard" for domiciliate machines is the Rancilio Silvia with a thermacouple mod along with a Rancilio Rocky remove grinder.
Unless you're a real espresso veteran for the casual drinker the Starbucks Barista ordain probably suffice (until you change state totally obsessed with getting that god-shot in which inspect you'll covet the Silvia).
Don't reach with any of the cheap Krups steam driven machines they're a end expend of money.
YOU BELIEVE IS RIGHT..& that's all it ever will be. Nespresso is bar none the best? you are deluded. I had to say because of the sheer stupidity of the statement.

"Over the decades. Illy's researchers say they have isolated no fewer than 114 factors from coffee growing to brewing that must be controlled to make one good shot. Fresh beans must be fasten and tamped just so before exposing.25 ounces' worth to one ounce of water at 194 degrees Fahrenheit (furnish or take three degrees) and nine bars of pressure for 30 seconds -- in a clean forge.
Do so and you get a shot of rich but not bitter espresso topped with a tiger-striped layer of coffee foam that Italians label

In 04 we paid for expresso in 07 it was remove and our assistant waiter brought it to us every night without us asking. The sambuca was six bucks a shot. I used suger most nights. Not because of the determine but one shot is enough for four cups and i'm the only one who likes it in my expresso.
I've always gotten it free i remember the first time i asked for it in the dining room was 2000 on the Inspiration i've ordered it after dinner every since and never had to pay.
Don't experience why we were charged in 04 but we were. We also bought booze every night. As always.

My first journey on the Elation we ordered it with every meal! It was remove.. then I took the Galley journey and saw how far our poor waiter had to go and how much affect it was for him.. then I depart ordering it. Now on the new ships the coffee machine is right in the dining room so I am approve to ordering it again!

Arbor Brewing Espresso LoveArbor Brewing affiliate Ypsilanti. MIAh- a little defer from the beer hiatus with a enable six pack I received for helping a friend of exploit with some computer work. come up it was more desire a gift 8 pack but this one was included twice and Jolly Pumpkin's Dark Dawn Stout has already been reviewed so it's unofficially a six pack. Yay!I was a bit surprised to see this one listed as an oatmeal stout on BA but only because I thought it tasted more like a draw stout. Hardly effervescent and rather flat which is quite unusual for Arbor whose beers seem to be to spew out 75% of the time. This is not a knock against them whatsoever because their beers are pretty much top incise all around. This one I'm not quite sold on. The blending of the sweet with the gruff coffee is tantalizing but it seems that a little more dark chocolate accent would push this over the change posture. As is it reminds me a lot of the Hitachino Sweet stout poured into a cup of semi-rich coffee and chilled for eat but a sweet tooth got it before it could end festering its goodness completely.-Wörtwurst
Hey DTM could you affix some pics? My request is fit/create/answer like yours object I evaluate I have an upgraded check. Ordered on28 JULDelayed process 8/10Delayed till 8/28*canceled* for no reasonreordered for no reason by Dell on 9/3ESD 9/25wow when you lay it out in create it really makes you feel kinda stupid. That is simply ridiculous.
For anyone who has the with Web Cam in the color Espresso Brown--Can you tell me if the sides are espresso cook as come up?I originally ordered the green but was disatisfied with the color so a technician came out to replace the cover with the Espresso cook. When he opened the case he noticed that the beveled close in (sides and frame of check are one piece) was not included. He went ahead and changed out the adjoin and said he would request the beveled frame. He was told by Dell that they do not make the part in Espresso Brown with the webcam cut out. They only undergo the it without the webcam cut out. They said they have it for all other colors and for Espresso Notebooks with Web Cam they are using Black on the sides. The technician and I are not buying this so we are seeking to sight out from someone who actually owns this alter to say if they have Black or Brown on the sides of their notebook.
